To be fair to the Saffas the match was India 201 & 200 vs 184 & 109.
Sounds a bit OVER SPUN that pitch

Always think the best Tests are when both teams make about 300 in their first innings.

Could be worse, could be South African.

Look as adept at playing spin as we are.

Could be worse, you could be west Indian.

Backed Samuels today and didn't expect him to be in after only 16 runs.

18/4, they are shit nowadays.

Have dilshan too and he may not be chasing much at this rate.

All that cheering in the summer and they're doing this to you.

I feel for you. I really do.

Luckily Hadlee took more wickets AWAY from NZ then I guess Sven.

Re: 3rd Test - Pakistan v England
Given that modern players play many more Tests than greats of the past its sometimes hard to compare records.
Lillee and Johnson have played similar numbers though .... 70 vs 71

Shane Warne played 145 vs Hadlee's 86 with similar wickets per Test.
Of course Hadlee played half his Tests on the GREEN TOPS of NZ while Warne had half his on the generally spin unfriendly Australian pitches.
With Glenn McGrath at the other end pinching wickets.
Hadlee bowled with Ewan Chatfield and his husband Dayle.

I think there may be a bit of fear and foreboding about playing in England again but the truth is he is 34.
Any retirement would be more about that fact and the grind of international cricket.
As I say I wouldn't be surprised if he retires at the end of the summer and probably spends two or three years working a couple of months a year in the IPL picking up a million or two dollars each year.

The way Starc is going he is almost ready to take over as Australia's no.1 bowler.
By the time the next Ashes come around Starc, Cummins, Pattinson & Hazlewood will be the main fast bowling contenders.

As it was when that fat, blonde fucknuckle Warne went past Hadlee Sven.

I reckon he's done better in Asia than Lillee the fraud...

It'll be a great shame when his fear prevents him playing. He's good fun to have around

Cheers Sven.

Told you we'd struggle. Especially at Brisbane.

Was it vs NZ in 85 that Australia last lost there?

Re: 3rd Test - Pakistan v England
He is 34 now. Although he is an athletic SPECIMEN I am not sure he will be able to do what he does at 36 in the next Ashes.
He certainly wont be returning to England and the relentless bullying in 2019.

He has 308 or thereabouts Test wickets and needs a couple to go past Brett LEE.
I actually hope he doesn't go past DK LILLEE (355 wickets from 70 Tests) as that would be sacrilege.

Burns and Khawaja have played well obviously.
England and Alistair C0-5k as part of Saint Brendon's POLITENESS CLUB are probably delighted for their fellow professionals as you say.

To be honest have always thought Burns is a middle order player and he might end up at 5 instead of Voges with Bancroft of WA eventually opening. Or maybe Nic Maddinson.

Re: 3rd Test - Pakistan v England
He said something similar recently about how he couldn't handle the English crowds and spent all summer crying himself to sleep so thought about retiring.

Don't think he's got the minerals to face up to it again

Southee has done his back I believe.
Batted but didn't bowl in the second innings.

Re: 3rd Test - Pakistan v England
I saw highlights of the first day and of the end of the second and the pitch looked fast and true with good carry.
Saw the last bit today and it was starting to turn.
Even Mark 'Jenny' Craig was turning the ball.

Don't think there is any great deterioration so I expect NZ to put up a better fight second time around.

Interesting article in I think the Sydney Morning Herald where Mitchell Johnson said he was thinking of retiring after the Ashes (RELENTLESS BULLYING!) and had a longer think during his 6 week break.
Reckons his commitment was REKINDLED playing for Western Australia in the one dayers and Sheffield Shield match but read to me like someone who , like Ian BELL, now has the thought in his head.
Impression I got is that this might be his last summer and no chance he will hang on for the next Ashes.

You always are when one of your teams is getting humiliated.

South Africa 45/5 against India. Need 218.

How's the pitch been playing?
I hear Southee is injured too?

Have been out/away the last couple of days so out of the loop at bit.

Re: 3rd Test - Pakistan v England
Stumps Day 3 at the Gabba

Australia 556/4 dec & 264/4 (Burns 129 Warner 116)
New Zealand 317 (Williamson 140 Starc 4/57)

Australia lead by 503 runs with 6 wickets in hand.

Will probably declare overnight if there is rain forecast otherwise might have a bit more of a hit tomorrow.
